The 2017 Hyundai Tucson has two engine options; a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 1.6-liter turbocharged GDI engine. We certainly recommend the latter, as it can deliver 175 horsepower and received an EPA-estimated rating of 32 MPG Highway!
The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. If you move up to higher-level trims, under the hood will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that is capable of 240 horsepower! On the highway, it earned an EPA-estimated rating of 28 MPG.

Noteworthy Differences Between The 2017 Tucson, Santa Fe, and Santa Fe Sport
Since these SUVs do indeed have a lot in common, listed below are some of the key ways in which they are not similar:
- The Tucson comes with a 5-inch color touchscreen display. The Santa Fe Sport is equipped with the same display, except it is an LCD version for a more high-tech feel. The Santa Fe comes with 7-inch LCD color touchscreen display. This is certainly something to consider if you are concerned with your main center display.
- Standard for the Santa Fe base trim includes the Hyundai Blue Link Connected Car System, offering full connectivity between your smartphone and your Hyundai. This is an available option for the Santa Fe Sport, and it is not available at all for the base level Tucson.
- Leather seats are not available for the Tucson, while they come standard for the Santa Fe Sport and the Santa Fe.
- The Tucson and the Santa Fe Sport can comfortably seat up to 5 people, while the Santa Fe can seat 7.
- Dual power front seats are not available for the Tucson and the Santa Fe Sport, while they come standard for the Santa Fe.
- The Santa Fe is equipped with a unique 5-bar front grille, bold and stylish. It also possesses a premium rear fascia, 18-inch alloy wheels, and chrome exterior door handles. We cannot say the same is true for the other two SUVs.
